Celebrate Small Businesses this 4th of July Weekend!
In Oakland or Petaluma, San Bruno or San Francisco, local businesses are what make neighborhoods special. And wherever you’re from, chances are that there is a Working Solutions entrepreneur nearby—a local business owner who is earning their livelihood, creating jobs, and bringing something a little different to your community.
As you celebrate America’s Independence Day this weekend with friends and family, we invite you to celebrate and support local entrepreneurs. Page through our Client Directory to find a list of Working Solutions client businesses in your community.
We love helping our clients promote their products and services. One way we do this is through our neighborhood Walking Tours. Recently San Francisco celebrated Small Business Week, and Working Solutions joined the festivities by showcasing three fabulous client businesses on a Walking Tour in San Francisco’s Financial District.
“The tour was great and it’s why I love microfinance and Working Solutions. Assisting small businesses!”
- Paul Knowlton, Bank of the West and Working Solutions Loan Committee Member
Over 20 volunteers, donors, and corporate and nonprofit partners had the opportunity to walk through the City and visit these locations on foot:
- Chapel Hill Coffee Co.: Located in the heart of the Financial District, Chapel Hill serves hyper-local, small batch coffee. Stop by and congratulate Rafael for successfully completing his first year in business.
- Onigilly: A well-loved favorite in the Financial District, Onigilly specializes in creating unique Japanese-inspired sandwiches made from rice. In fact, Onigilly has been so successful that Koji, owner and founder, has opened a fourth location and has plans to expand beyond San Francisco next year.
- Sow Juice: Co-owners Luisa and Derek are passionate about creating distinctive, organic juice combinations made fresh to order using only in-season, California-grown ingredients. Visit Sow Juice at their newly-built kiosk in front of the Ferry Building.
All three businesses are open, thriving, and ready for your visit. Check out photos of our Financial District Walking Tour, taken by our wonderful volunteer, Tami Honey (thank you, Tami!).
Stay tuned for another San Francisco tour and our first-ever Oakland Walking Tour, both coming Fall 2016!
