Community Event Highlights: Black History Month

February was a busy month for the Working Solutions team!

We were very excited to participate in our first-ever Twitter chat hosted by Small Business Majority in honor of Black History Month. Check out this recap to see some of the great resources and tips for Black entrepreneurs that were shared during the chat.

From tabling to presenting, our program team was out and about at events across the Bay Area helping to raise the visibility of Working Solutions, including many events held in honor of Black History Month. Here is a snapshot of a few of the in-person events we participated in:

  • Ebere Sonoiki tabled at a small business resource open house hosted by the Temescal/Telegraph Business Improvement District in Oakland on 2/12.

  • Titi Ikhile served as a judge on the Coalition of Black Excellence’s pitch competition in San Francisco on 2/20.

  • Tonya Kent presented to the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center’s “Fillmore Women” program cohort (who are participating in a 12-week program for women entrepreneurs) in San Francisco on 2/24.

  • Anita Russell and Ebere Sonoiki attended “Move Forward: An Entrepreneurial Experience, Presented by Square” in Oakland on 2/27.
